Hell - Not Just A Word

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Last night's sermon, to say the least, was Spirit filled. A subject not mentioned in most churches was discussed, Hell. Our scripture reading was 2 Peter 2:4-11. Last Tuesday I read a book titled 23 Minutes in Hell by Bill Wiese. It blew me away. He recounted his journey to Hell. The Holy Spirit was moving in me as I read. Now, I don't like to read, but this book kept my attention and I completed it in two and a half hours. It was my inspiration for this weeks sermon. Hell is one of the most talked about subjects in scriptures. Most of us don't realize it but, in fact, it's true. There are over 200 verses in reference to the subject of hell. That is one of the reasons I felt the need to speak about it. I quoted several Pastors that spoke on this subject. Statements form how horrible a place it is to the torment that is there. We focused on the fact that in hell one will be eternally separated from God (2 Thessalonians 1:9). Hell is a place of darkness and one is completely cut off from God's Holiness. (Psalm 88:5-6 & Matthew 8:12) It is a place reserved for the wicked and for those who do not have Jesus Christ in their hearts, a place of deep darkness (Jude 13). It is a massive "Pit" filled with corruption (Psalm 55:23), and destruction (Isaiah 38:17-18). Bill described the pit as such: "There were people in Hell who were contained in a massive pit. Horrible creatures surrounded the perimeter. There was no way of escape. Any attempt to do so was futile. Human strength was no match for the demons. I felt such anguish for these hopeless people, but at the same time I realized that I could be next." (Pg. 22, 23). Hell is a place of fire and burning where the wicked and un-saved will be in agony, with no peace of mind or body (Job 18:15, Psalm 11:6, & Matthew 18:8-9). There will be no rest from the torment, they will not have peace, haunts of violence will fill this dark place (Isaiah 57:20, Revelation 14:11, Isaiah 57:21,& Psalm 74:20). Why did I feel the need to talk about Hell? We all know someone who is destined for that horrible place. Hell is real, God has set aside this place for those who refuse to accept Him. I, as Bill, felt the need of urgency to get the message out to everyone because I don't want to see anyone take up residence in that horrible place. I left everyone with this final quote from Bill as he spoke to Jesus: "I asked Him, "Why didn't I know you when I was there?" He said, "I kept it from you." In order for me to experience the hopelessness of those souls in hell, the fact that I knew Jesus had to be hidden from my mind. If I knew Him there, as I have since 1970, I would have had hope that He would rescue me. To experience the feeling of being lost forever was by far the worst part of Hell. On earth, we always have some form of hope. Even amidst the most direful situations, we have hope that we'll escape, even if it's only through death. But there you know positively there is no hope whatsoever; you will never get out. Your soul cannot die, and you are lost in torment forever. Finally He said, "Tell them I am coming very, very soon." In my spirit, I felt an urgency to warn as many people as possible, as time is running out. He sternly said it again: "TELL THEM I AM COMING VERY VERY SOON!" Repeating Himself tells me His coming truly is getting very very close (23 Minutes in Hell, pg. 37-38). If you have Jesus Christ in your heart, I pray that you will take this message and run with it, tell everyone you know that yes, Jesus is returning soon. Till next week, I pray all will have a blessed one.

Is One Sin Greater Than Another ?

Sorry for the late post, the farmer's tractor cut my internet service and it has taken a while for the company to repair it. I pray that Mothers Day was a blessing for everyone. Our scripture reading was Proverbs 6:16-19. We talked about the seven deadly sins, as most people call them. Haughty Eyes, A Lying Tongue, Murder, A Wicked Heart, Quickness To Run To Evil, False Witness Who Pours Out Lies, and One Who Stirs Dissension Among Brothers. Pope Gregory the Great in the 6th century listed the seven deadly sins as, Pride, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Anger, Greed, and Sloth. One of the largest misconceptions is that God will not forgive these sin's. Not true, God will forgive all sins if you except Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Another misconception is that these are the only seven "deadly" sins. Once again I say No, ALL sin is deadly (Romans 6:23). The "seven deadly sins" were used by the early Christian Church to educate and instruct followers concerning man's tendency to sin. We do find in scripture one sin that God will not forgive and that is the "continued unbelief". This is because it rejects the only means to obtain forgiveness (Jesus Christ and His death on the cross) we find this in Matthew 26:28, Acts 10:42, and Ephesians 1:7. The important part of the "seven deadly sins" is that nearly every kind of sin can be placed under one of the seven categories.
What is sin? 1) A transgression of a religious or moral law 2) A condition of estrangement from God resulting from such disobedience 3) something regarded as being shameful, deplorable, or utterly wrong (The Free Dictionary.com). How does scripture define sin? Transgression of the Law of God (1 John 3:4) and Rebellion against God (Deuteronomy 9:7 & Joshua 1:18).
Sin began with Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12-15). He wanted to be like God. When he was cast to earth he brought sin to the world and the human race. Genesis 3 tells us of the fall of man and Satan's ploy to get man to disobey God. "You shall be like God". Since that day man has inherited Adams sin and it has been passed down to all generations (Romans 5:12) and as a result of sin we die (Romans 6:23).
There are three types of sin. 1) Inherited Sin, we inherited our sinful nature from Adam. King David commented on our inherited sin (Psalm 51:5) "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.". 2) Imputed Sin, The Greek word means "to take something that belongs to someone and credit it to another's account". After Moses was given the Law, sins committed in violation of the law were "imputed" (accounted) to them (Romans 5:13). The penalty before the law was still death (Romans 5:14) so after we were given the Law we were subject to death because of Inherited and Imputed sin. 3) Personal Sin, Committed everyday by everyone. Because of Inherited sin we commit Personal Sin. From telling that "little white lie" to murder. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ you will pay for your Personal sins as well as Inherited and Imputed sins, and that is a Spiritual death in Hell separated from God for eternity. Believers have been freed from the eternal penalties of sin and we have the power to resist Personal sin (Romans 8:9-11). The Holy Spirit sanctifies and convicts us when we do sin but we must seek His forgiveness (1 John 1:9).
God imputed our sins on Jesus Christ, so that we may have eternal life with Him. He bore the sins of the world, a sinless man (because of His virgin birth) He was the atoning sacrifice for all our sins. (1 John 2:2).
Three times condemned to death. Not just a physical death but eternal death (Revelation 20:11-15). Praise God for His son Jesus Christ "We have redemption through His blood, forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of God's grace" (Ephesians 1:7). Are you cleansed with the blood of Jesus Christ?

Watch Out That No Man Decieves You

Greetings, Sorry this post is later than normal but it's been a busy week. Our scripture reading for Sunday was Matthew 24:4-31. End Times are approaching and the Lord laid on my heart a message of warning and truth. We are being deceived by many people these day's. From the news media to our own government. I explained to our congregation that we need to do our research into everything that we are told by the media. One of the examples I gave was the amount of "disturbances" we had with in the past week. 35 erupting volcano's, 52 recorded earthquakes every 12 hours, 12 epidemics, and 9 biological hazards. None of which were reported in our media. Another fallacy that was exposed was the ownership of the Federal Reserve. We looked into the creation of this entity in 1913, the owners and their holdings. Sure, I know what most are thinking, "another conspiracy theorist". Well, maybe so, but our scriptures clearly warn us of false prophets, men deceiving men, wars and rumors of wars, and plagues and pestilence. Many have claimed that the end was approaching in their life time and it never came to pass. Think about how old our scriptures are and how old you are. Of course you have heard about these things your whole life. We are just a pin prick on the time line of life. We talked about the Illuminati and the New World Order. We can connect the two to our own government. The facts are out there you just have to search. I did my research and asked everyone to do their own. You may be called a "nut", "conspiracy theorist", "bible wacko", and so on, but, if you pray for truth the Lord will reveal truth to you. I have provided a web link so you can follow the world's disasters. This message was well received and we had 22 people there to hear it. When the Lord laid the message on my heart I thought that we weren't ready to hear it. After five attempts to read my scriptures I kept coming up with the same sermon. "End Times" Are you ready for the return of Jesus Christ?
